Free Extra Curriculum Classes
FREE extra curriculum classes are available for Army children, ages 11-18, through the EDGE program in the following areas: Art, Fitness, Life and Adventure
Classes are offered during four-week sessions, Monday-Friday.
June schedule:
Golf
Tuesdays (June 1, 8, 15, 22) and Thursdays (June 3, 10, 17, 24) at 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Location: Cheyenne Shadows Golf Course
Bowling
Wednesdays (June 2, 9, 16, 23) and Fridays (June 4, 11, 18, 25) at 4-6 p.m.
Location: Thunder Alley Bowling Center
Participants will meet at the Youth Center (bldg. 5950) at 4 p.m. before each class. Transportation to the facilities where the activities take place will be arranged for by the EDGE staff.
Participating children must be registered with the Fort Carson Child, Youth and School Services, prior to starting the EDGE program.
Registrations are taken at the CYSS Parent Central Office located in bldg. 1518, Prussman Road. Registration is FREE.

inflatable playground toys for hours of fun! Cotton Candy and snow cones for
everyone. All inflatable wills be water slide oriented.

A Free Service of CYSS
Hired for the Summer
Are you concerned about what your teenagers will do this summer? Enroll then in the HIRED program!
This free program is offered at Fort Carson by the Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS) and it provides apprenticeship opportunities for youth ages 15-18.
There is a wide variety of positions to choose from at selected Fort Carson MWR facilities. Available positions include food service, sales, outdoor recreation, golf and automotive, just to name a few.
Participating youth will receive a stipend and will have the opportunity to develop valuable job skills.
Spaces are filling up quickly, so do not wait, sign up today!

Family Carnival Night
Family Carnival Night at the Elkhorn on June 13 Bring the kiddos for an afternoon of great fun with exotic animals, clowns, hay rides, face painting, jump houses, piņatas and more at the Fort Carson Elkhorn Conference and Catering Center. The highlight of the event will be Safari Sally with her exotic reptiles and mammals and Professor Higgens Magician and Balloon Artist! Poker Ride at Fort Carson's Turkey Creek Ranch on May 22, June 19 & July

Come out to the Ranch with your horse and enjoy a day of riding and playing with fellow riders, in search of the best poker hand!
You do not need to know how to play poker but you do need a horse!
Participants will ride an easy 11-13 mile long loop, and stop at four locations to draw their cards. Once the route is completed the cards are tallied and the winner with the best poker hand is announced and awarded a prize.
Registration/Check-In: 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Registration Fee: $15 per rider- light lunch included Ride Time: 10 a.m.

and the entry fee is only five dollars. At 2 p.m., $100 will be awarded to
